Fastum ideas: why not!!

How expensive is the hosting? R100 per month
How expensive is the domain? R50 per year

So why get rid of the domain name? Rather use it as a spring board for greater things, and when I say spring board jump the furthest you have ever jumped in your life before, remove the red tape and shout and scream.

SMS is an option because you can get sms’s to pay for themselves.

Turn the website on it head and put all the shit about the product ingredients and all the testing stuff right at the back of the site. The logic behind this is if look at a car manufacturer, yes in the end they sell cars but before that they sell for free a much bigger idea “sheer driving pleasure”

The same goes for LG there is no clutter about how many rivets hold there fridges together or how bright the light bulb is. What they sell you is “Life’s Good”

This is the route that fastum should go, don’t show painful mussels or broken bodies, rather show healthy bodies people having a good time free from the worries that they are overworking their mussels. Again if you look at booze they don’t sell hangovers, they sell a good time with friends and strangers.

So what to put in the front of the website?

  • Real people doing stuff with comments about life.
  • Sponsored people, events, websites the list can go on.
  • Forum about whatever, see what people have to say about the product or another product (embrace the enemy).
  • Competitions.
  • A place to build a database of people’s information.

How do you market the product or idea?

  • Write a self help e-book on pain.
  • Tell people they can win stuff and get them to tell their friends they can win stuff.
  • Get people to tell other people about the product. ( I saw this in action with Stuart telling a mate how good the stuff is)
  • Sponsor very unusual events that have a very loyal following e.g. Mountain climbing, Red bull events and

Something to remember:
Q: How do you eat an elephant?
A: one bite at a time.
One more thing with a bit of creativity and some help this can also make the job a lot easer.

What this means is with a bit of patience, perseverance, creativity and teamwork we can get fastum to be a top seller.

boring for me exciting

Well we lost the TV pitch for the myprodol ad, came second so we are the first of the losers. Ha! Ha! The tourism cd is finished plus the website for communication practice is in waiting for the client.

Looks like some other work is also coming in for us, 4 big multimedia jobs and a few other odds and sods as soon as I get more info I will post it up here. The challenge is going to be to make something boring for me exciting. All part of the fun!

TV pitch for myprodol

Well we are still not sure how the TV pitch for myprodol has gone. Hold thumbs and wait and see I suppose.

The other news is the Digital Tourism brochure is almost complete, there are just a few pictures missing and some menu naming issues, plus they need to send me the updated maps. Ok maybe it is not almost complete.

Did a banner for www.painrelief.co.za they are running competition.

The communication practice website is coming on nicely now I just have to animate the stick figure walking and doing funny things plus a few other touch ups.

not that excited

Today is D day for the pitch for the TV advertising campaign for “myprodol” not allowed to say the word. I will post later how it goes so watch this space. I do feel this is going to be rather a large learning curve as I have never done anything like this before.

I am not that excited about today, it just started all too early, did find a shorter route to work. This was a bit dim of me as I was going this way home. Just in case you don’t know traffic is a busy word in joburg. At least I have a lot of work.

three projects

I am busy working on three projects at the moment.

  1. We are doing a pitch for a TV campaign for a product that we can’t name what it is and it can only be prescribed by a doctor (not sure I get the whole idea) www.painrelief.co.za.
  2. The communication practice website is coming on. I have put up a test link here. The client is very happy with it and she did give me some very positive feedback.
  3. Got the job for converting a print brochure into a website, also need to be an auto start so it can go on a CD.

On the sad news side is our website www.dmark.co.za is still under construction and the old one is still up which is very sad on my part. It is one of those things that I need to sit down and spend a bit of creative juice on. I have frozen a huge block of ice so I can get some nice photos.

After monday I have a small banner to design.

flash mode

The communication practice has approved the one design so now production moves into flash mode. So far so good and I will be posting the flash file in a few days. There is also another job busy coming thought that is to convert a print brochure into a digital one. This will be done in html as it might be used for a website.

This will be a journal of my work here at Dmark

So far so good, I will post projects and ideas related to my work here at dmark.

One of the current projects that I am having a bit of a block with is the Dmark website. It needs to be revamped and I am not sure what to do. The theme for Dmark is “ICE” anyway will keep you posted.

Busy working on a website design for communication practice and I have done a few designs so the next phase is to wait and see what the client says.
